The Christmas season has officially begun and according to the Advent calendar, the season begins with hope. Do you feel hopeful? Or are you getting discouraged by the events in the world today?
Christmas is a time of hope because Jesus represents a new way of thinking and being. A way that does not allow external issues to take away our peace and serenity. I know that is easier to say than do, but it is what we should hope for as well as strive for.
Hope is important because it only arises when we get a glimpse of a new possibility. It lifts our spirits and helps us to remember that everything changes and so will the conditions we now find ourselves in. It was true in the time of Jesus’ birth and is still true today.
Hope is a gift from God. Whatever we are facing in our lives, know that it is only temporary. Hope renews and strengthens our faith. It is something we all need now.
Quote of the Week
“For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
