The Power of Two or More

Have you ever been part of a group that allowed you to accomplish more than you were capable of on your own?  Maybe it was a team sport, a 12 step program, a class project, etc.

I used to run and it never ceased to amaze me how I could always run further and faster when I was in a race (with a group) than I could on my own. In training for a marathon, it is advised that to run the 26 miles you only need to run 21 or so in training.  The reason – in a group there is an energy, a power that is greater than we have on our own.

This is true with our spiritual lives as well.  Anyone who has ever meditated in a group can tell you that there is an energy, a force, a power that is greater than any we can tap into on our own.  When we know this, we can use it to accomplish much more than we can individually.

It can be used by a group to attain seemingly impossible goals (think the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team) and it can be used when we ask another person to pray and affirm with us what it is we are needing at any time in our life.

Do you have a prayer partner, a meditation group, or a support group in your life?  If not, you are missing a powerful spiritual tool for you to use in good times and not such good times.

Don’t delay, you will not regret it

Quote of the Week

“Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven.  For where two or three gather together in my name, there am I with them.”        Matthew 18:19-20
