Summer was always my favorite season as a child. Not only was the weather warm and the days long, but there was no school! It was a time to play, play, play!
As adults we often forget how great summer can be especially if we work the usual 50 weeks a year. But summer can still be a time to find the joy of the season that we may have forgotten.
It can be a time where we slow down, take walks along the beach, go on nature hikes, just sit outside and enjoy the early evening breezes and relax, restore, and rejuvenate our spirits. It can be a time to enhance our spiritual lives rather than taking time off from them.
We spend so much of our lives just rushing here and there, marking things to do off our lists, juggling all our obligations – that we often have forgotten the joys of our summers past. This summer take some time to truly use this season to experience all this time of year has to offer.
Quote of the Week
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grown in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
