God is often referred to as Father or Mother but those terms can be difficult for some people, especially if they did not come from a home filled with Love. Although I had a good home I never have been able to think of God as Father or Mother that easily, but I can wrap my heart and head around, “God is my friend”.
Most people have or have had a best friend (or if not, an imaginary one). When we think of the qualities we seek in a friend – loyalty, dependability, supporting, confidence/confiding, loving, empathetic, compassionate, truthful, and trustworthy – we also can think of those qualities as God. If we think of God as our friend, we will have no fear in turning to it when things are at a low or at a high. A good friend does not care about what we look like or what we have – he/she just cares about “us” – as a person.
Long ago I was taught to think of God as my friend and in doing so, it has enabled me to trust God because I know It is my friend as I am It’s friend. It is so good to know that I am a friend of God!!!
Quote of the Week
“It doesn’t matter how many friends I have because my best friend is God. And It is a super friend. People come and people go, but God’s love for you will remain the same. Embrace it, cherish it, and spread it everywhere you go. Let your light shine brightly for all the world to see.”
