Life’s Priorities

For many of us there are many demands on our time and our pocketbooks. It may seem like there is not enough time or money to do everything we want to do. Like it or not, we often have to prioritize so that we don’t miss out on the big opportunities while pursuing the small stuff.

This past weekend I travelled to Columbus, Ohio to see my 18-year-old granddaughter play the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast. It was an expensive weekend, and it was so short, I was exhausted from flying back and forth across the country but I would not have missed it for the world.

There are events in life for which you cannot put a price tag on or measure by time – these are the memories that will be with you until the last breath you take. Watching her on that professional stage, playing the lead in an adult production filled with amazingly talented people, brought tears to my eyes many times. Seeing her face beaming, as she came out in the finale to a thundering roar of applause, filled my heart with a joy that words cannot express.

So often, we miss such times because we live in lack – of enough money or time – and in doing so, we deprive ourselves of the times that become our most cherished moments.

Here’s to a life filled with many such moments.

Quote of the Week

“Cherish those moments that once captured you and today still captivate you.”
