Happy 4th of July!
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday while celebrating our nation’s independence, whether spending it at the beach, in a park, in a backyard, or relaxing at home.
Unfortunately, many of us are, too often, far from free. We are shackled with the expectations of others, the masks we wear, and the front we put on. We often feel trapped in jobs, marriages, houses, etc. because we believe that is all we are capable of, or we fear stepping out into a new frontier in life.
We have forgotten how wonderful each of us is – a physical manifestation of Pure Spirit. And we are one with that Spirit within every living being on earth. When we realize how much we, ourselves, determine our own lives, we can release the chains that hold us back to become free to be all that God created us to be.
We are like the Golden Buddha that had been covered in clay so that others would not steal it. Over time the villagers forgot about the Golden Buddha and only saw one of clay. One day some young people were playing near the Buddha when a shiny light shone through a crack in it. It was then discovered that in truth, the Buddha had always been made of gold.
We are all a Golden Buddha. We have been covered with the clay of the material world, of what others say, and the limitations we set upon ourselves. This July 4th as you celebrate this country’s freedom, look within and let your inner Golden Buddha shine through.
Happy Independence Day!
