Happy Valentine’s Day

For some, Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to show loved ones how much they care, but for others, it is a holiday they would like to forget.

There was a time in my life when I disliked this holiday because it was a reminder that I was alone, and therefore, it became another reason for me to feel self pity, despondent, and remorseful. Although it was true I was alone, it was also true that I had no connection with a Power Greater than myself.

Once I found that Higher Power (who I choose to call God), I found Love that was constant and unconditional. It did not matter if I had a significant other or not, I knew I was loved and my primary purpose was to express that Love no matter what my circumstances were.

For me, God is Love, and knowing that, I also know that I am never alone, that there is a Presence and a Power that not only loves me, but cares for me and gives me strength to walk through whatever life brings me.

Love should be celebrated not because someone gives us flowers or candy, but because we are Love created by Perfect Love.

Quote of the Week

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
