God’s Will/God’s Grace

In life there are times when we have to face things so difficult we might question God’s love for us.  Does God really care about me, or not?  Does God love me like everyone says He does?

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, he knew he was going to his death, yet he rode into the city with dignity and grace even though he was sitting on a donkey.

How did he do this?  How did he ride into a place knowing it was going to bring about a painful and humiliating death?  Jesus knew that it was God’s plan for him so he was able to walk through the experience gracefully.

In my own life, however, I do not always go through those challenging times with as much grace.  I often go kicking and screaming, “Why, God, are you doing this to me?”  What has helped me get through those times, is knowing, that no matter how big the obstacle, God wants only the best for me (and you) in the long run.

I may not see the good, but I can trust.  Looking back on other times in my life, when all seemed hopeless, I eventually found the good that came out of those times and even though it may be hard right now, I know that we can get through this and that we will soon see the good that is contained within this difficulty.

Another way I do this is to remember that God’s Will does not take me where God’s Grace will not keep me.  Knowing this, I can move through the darkness and into the light with grace and dignity.

Quote of the Week

“Remember that Just when life overwhelms you, God’s grace is there to pick you up.”
