From Rev. Arlene

During my life I have moved many times but all the moves were personal ones. This week we had the blessings and challenges of moving our spiritual center – Unity of Orange County.

It is certainly a blessing because we now have our own home and room to grow, but any move is a challenge because it is leaving the familiar for the unfamiliar. Because of this we spent time properly saying goodbye to our old space and blessing it and its future inhabitants as well as writing gratitude notes for all the gifts we received while there.

It is important to always bless what we have because by definition, the practice of gratitude involves a focus on the present moment – appreciating our life today and what has made it so whether it is a place, job, or relationship that we are leaving behind.

So be grateful for what you have had or where you have been, as well as for where you are because by doing so you are opening yourself for many more wonderful events yet to come in your future.

Quote of the Week

“Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.” Dr. Seuss
