Friends

One of the greatest gifts we can receive is the gift of friendship.  Good friends are the family that we choose not the ones we inherit.  Good friends are those we can laugh with and cry with and whichever it is does not matter.

Good friends help us through challenging times and blessed times.  A true friendship can withstand the distance of space and time.  Friendships should be cherished and nourished.

I had the blessing to spend 10 days with my best friend who, although we are miles apart, has continued to be there for me through many life challenges.  Years ago, I got a job in a place I did not want, in a situation that was not all as I had envisioned.  I did not know at the time why I had landed in such a place, I just knew it was where I was supposed to be at that junction in my life.

Of the many gifts that came out of that decision,  one of the biggest was meeting my soon-to-be BFF.  It is interesting how one decision can have such a major effect on our lives in the moment and in the years to come.

Do you have that one person that you can depend on whatever happens?  If so, be sure to appreciate them because a good friend is a gift from God.

Quote of the Week
