Community

In our world today, where people are connected by cell phones, computers, notepads, watches, etc., there are many people who still feel alone and isolated. We may have friends at work, family, those we work out with – but I believe there is nothing that can beat having a spiritual community we are a part of.

This community can be a church, synagogue, sangha, temple, or a 12 step group. The spiritual energy that is generated by coming together is more powerful than what can be done alone. Also, a positive spiritual/social environment can make a helpful influence on, not just our physical, mental, and emotional wellness, but our spirit as well.

The world is filled with disappointments, sadness, and challenges but having others to share our goals, dreams, grief, joy, fears and hopes, makes it easier to deal with, when we have a support group holding us up, in the down times, and cheering us on in the up times.
Do you have such support? Are you connected? If not, find one – you will be amazed how much better your life will be with one.

Quote of the Week

“The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone here and there who thinks and feels with us, and who, though distant is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
